(a) Investigations/ White-collar crime

  • We are acting for clients in investigations arising from a Singapore lawyer’s alleged misuse of SGD 33 million in clients’ money.
  • We are acting for clients allegedly implicated in an international money-laundering scandal.

(b) Arbitration

  • We are acting for an Indonesian client in a SIAC arbitration arising out of a breach of contract dispute with the private equity arm of a major international bank incorporated in Hong Kong. The value of the claim is over USD 128 million.

(c) Professional malpractice

  • The Law Society of Singapore v Wong Sin Yee [2018] SGHC 196 - We acted for an advocate and solicitor in a case touching on the ethical duties of a criminal defence counsel cross-examining an alleged victim of sexual offences.

(d) Plaintiff/claimant

  • Ramesh s/o Krishnan v AXA Life Insurance Singapore Pte Ltd [2017] SGHC 197; [2016] SGCA 47 - In the first case of its kind, we successfully acted for a financial services director in claiming against a financial institution for negligent preparation of an employment reference, with damages assessed at SGD 3.2 million.
