Yuen Law is a full-service Singapore law firm established in 2012 by Managing Director Samuel Yuen. We are known for delivering practical, cost-effective legal solutions tailored to each client’s needs. Our core practice groups include Corporate, Dispute Resolution, Private Wealth and Family, and Integrated Property.

Our Dispute Resolution Practice Group, led by Director Amos Cai, is adept in various contentious matters, including shareholder disputes, construction claims, debt recovery, medical negligence, and insurance issues. With the rise of cross-border disputes, we are steadily expanding our capabilities to manage complex, multi-jurisdictional cases. A recent highlight involved representing a Singaporean business owner resisting enforcement of a Chinese court judgment involving claims of up to RMB 1.2 million. Other key principles include Denise Teo, P. Padman and Benedict Eoon, who bring extensive experience in commercial litigation, international arbitration, and white-collar crime.

Our Private Wealth and Family Practice Group, led by Director Lim Fung Peen, is recognised for its compassionate and strategic handling of sensitive family matters—from divorce and custody to prenuptial agreements and adoption. While we seek amicable outcomes, we are fully prepared to advocate for clients when disputes escalate. The team also handles complex cross-border matters, including advising a husband on an international child abduction case under the Hague Convention, involving unilateral relocation of children from Singapore to Australia. We assisted with return efforts via the Singapore Central Authority and acted as expert witness in Australian proceedings on Singapore custody rights and interim orders.

Led by Associate Director Tris Xavier, Yuen Law’s Integrated Property Practice Group provides legal expertise in insolvency and bankruptcy, IP infringement, and property forced sale applications. We advise individuals and businesses on debt restructuring, including legal proceedings and schemes of arrangement, and act for creditors to enforce claims and reduce losses. One notable case involved acting for a leading international hospitality brand in the S$30 million intragroup conveyance of its office building. As businesses expand globally, we also help safeguard their intellectual property by enforcing their rights against infringement, advising on brand protection strategies, and taking swift legal action when needed.

Yuen Law’s Corporate Practice Group, led by Managing Director Samuel Yuen and Senior Director Kevin Chua, specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, securities transactions, corporate restructuring, and regulatory matters. Our multidisciplinary team brings extensive experience from government and regulated industries, serving a diverse clientele—from startups and SMEs to MNCs, fund managers, financial institutions, and family offices. A recent highlight includes acting for the sellers in the S$4.7 million sale of Simply Sakal to Nasdaq-listed Ohmyhome, supporting its strategy to grow its client base in Singapore.

Yuen Law has been recognised by leading legal directories and publications, including Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific, The Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, IFLR1000, asialaw, Asian Legal Business, and The Straits Times, reflecting our commitment to client service excellence.

  • Represented an international asset management company in a dispute with a former employee over wrongful dismissal.
  • Represented a prominent building and construction company in a SIAC arbitration against a main contractor concerning unpaid sums for contracted work and additional works performed, as well as wrongful call on our client’s performance bond. We defended against counterclaims filed by the respondent for alleged failure to provide certain goods and rectification of defects. We successfully negotiated a settlement for the parties involved.
  • Represent Eller, Urs against Cheong Kiat Wah with a claim for equitable compensation for breach of trust deed in relation to shares of a Malaysian company. An appeal was filed by Cheong Kiat Wah to the Appellate Division of the High Court of Singapore, which was subsequently dismissed.

  • Successfully represented a father in a rare Hague Convention application, where the mother had unlawfully abducted their children from Singapore to Australia. Collaborating with the Singapore Central Authority and Australian solicitors, we secured an Australian court order to return the children to Singapore.
  • Represented the husband against his uncooperative wife in a case that could have escalated into a highly contentious and costly divorce. We successfully negotiated a Deed of Separation, securing favourable terms for our client, including full ownership of the matrimonial flat, even before initiating divorce proceedings.
  • Successfully assisted a younger sister seeking to remove her older sister as a Donee under a registered Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) for their mentally incapacitated sibling.  Our successful whistleblowing to the Ministry of Social and Family Development led to an investigation into the Donee’s conduct, ultimately resolving a protracted family dispute and ensuring better care for the vulnerable person.
