Adam is a Partner at McMillan LLP and an experienced commercial, securities and intellectual property litigator. Adam has been lead counsel at every level of court federally and in Ontario and has led numerous tribunal advocacy teams.
Adam recently acted as lead litigation counsel in the Ontario Securities Commission matter of The Catalyst Capital Group (Re), one of Canada’s leading securities litigation matters in 2019. Adam also continued to lead the defence team for the directors and officers of Sino-Forest Corporation, a matter ranking among the largest securities fraud cases in Canadian history.
Adam's litigation matters often range beyond Canada's borders. Adam has prosecuted the trademark rights of both domestic and American intellectual property holders and defended securities regulatory proceedings for clients as far away as Australia and Cyprus.
Adam has successfully seen disputes through to their end. He has been successful in multi-week trials and single-day hearings. Adam is a frequent publisher, the author of a textbook chapter on intellectual property remedies and will be teaching securities litigation as an adjunct professor in Winter 2021.
