Grant is a commercial litigator with experience in a broad range of industries and disputes. He has extensive experience in the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal. He has also appeared in the British Columbia and Saskatchewan superior courts, the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Grant has frequently brought and defended applications for injunctive relief in numerous scenarios, including shareholder disputes, breach of restrictive covenants and noncompetition agreements, franchisor/franchisee, intellectual property and other disputes. He has successfully applied for and defended applications for Mareva injunctions, Anton Piller orders and Attachment orders. He has also acted as independent supervising solicitor for Anton Piller orders.
In addition to appearing in the courts, Grant has extensive experience in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. He frequently represents clients in arbitrations and mediations and periodically acts as mediator and arbitrator.
