Lori Mince is a partner in Fishman Haygood’s litigation section. She practices in the areas of commercial litigation, media law, and tax litigation. Lori is also a certified American Arbitration Association® arbitrator.

In her commercial litigation practice, Lori has represented clients in a variety of matters, including class actions and commercial disputes involving GoAuto Insurance, LLC; LCMC Health; Wallace Drennan, Inc.; Rouses Enterprises; H&E Equipment Services, Inc.; Stirling Properties; Lloyd’s of London; and ASM Global, LLC. Lori also regularly represents executives in employment disputes with their former employers regarding compensation and restrictive covenants.

In her media law practice, Lori has represented the Associated Press, The New York Times, ProPublica, Cable News Network, Viacom, American Oversight, the Guardian, and others. She has handled dozens of matters seeking access to proceedings and records on subjects ranging from police misconduct and corruption in government contracting to Louisiana State University’s search for a new president. She also regularly defends media clients in defamation actions and disputes involving intellectual property rights.

Finally, Lori regularly represents the Louisiana Department of Revenue in lawsuits seeking to recover corporate income, franchise, and sales taxes from among the largest taxpayers in the state, including Monsanto, E.I. Dupont de Nemours, Home Depot, R.J. Reynolds, W.W. Grainger, Honda Motor Co., and Koch Industries.

Lori is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the Louisiana Bar Foundation, and the Litigation Counsel of America. She is a past chair of the American Bar Association Real Property Division Litigation and Ethics Group.

  • Recently represented or currently represents the State of Louisiana Department of Revenue in several transfer pricing cases against Conoco Philips, General Mills, W.W. Grainger, Inc., Monsanto Company, Rent-A-Center, Inc., and Home Depot USA, Inc. The Department seeks to enforce its right to adjust taxable income between two or more related parties to more accurately reflect the income earned by each party in the State of Louisiana.
  • Represents GoAuto Insurance in a putative class action related to the company’s automobile cancellation practices. The suit, which involved thousands of putative class members and billions of dollars in alleged liability, was dismissed on summary judgment in favor of GoAuto. That ruling is on appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
  • Served as lead trial counsel for Lloyd’s of London in a subrogation action seeking $50 million in damages arising from a well blowout in Lafourche Parish. The matter was tried to a jury in March 2025, with a verdict rendered for the Defendants. That ruling is on appeal to the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • Serves as lead trial counsel in a suit filed by a contractor seeking statutory interest against the City of New Orleans pursuant to the Louisiana Public Works Act for failure to timely pay for work performed. Following two separate trials, the court issued two judgments in favor of the contractor for more than $900,000. The first judgment was affirmed on appeal. The second judgment is currently on appeal to the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • Represents the City of Shreveport in an action seeking more than $300 million in damages from the engineering firm that designed and oversaw construction of improvements to the City’s sewerage system pursuant to a Consent Decree between the City and the Department of Justice.
