Louise is a Partner at BD&P with 25 years of experience advising on commercial litigation and arbitration matters. She is a member of the Western Canada Commercial Arbitration Society and The Advocates Society.


Louise has appeared before international commercial arbitration tribunals in Canada, the United States, Sweden and the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, as well as before trial and appellate courts in Alberta, and other tribunals including the Workers’ Compensation Board and the Canada Pension Plan Appeals Board.


Louise has broad experience in commercial litigation matters, namely corporate, commercial, insurance, professional negligence and product liability claims, including energy litigation and arbitrations. She regularly acts as counsel in domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings, and investor state disputes under investment treaties.


Some of her key recent cases include advising multiple energy companies in royalty dispute arbitration, acting as counsel to a global manufacturing company in litigation involving a distribution contract dispute, also involving allegations of misuse of confidential information and conspiracy, and as counsel to a state in international arbitration involving an investor state dispute relating to a telecommunications investment.
