Under Mani’s leadership, Sarthak Advocates & Solicitors has expanded its sectoral experience in litigation and arbitration focusing particularly on construction disputes including delay and disruption claims, shareholder disputes, commercial practice and contracts, etc. Apart from private clients, Mani also advises government departments/ public sector enterprises in India such as Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. Mani was recently shortlisted as a finalist for Asian Legal Business’ “Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year” category at the India Law Awards 2019. She has also been invited to the Indian Parliament’s Standing Committees to depose on various proposed legislations such as the Higher Education & Research Bill, 2011.

  • Successfully defended Metis Eduventures Private Limited in a suit filed by its competitor for inducing breach of employment contracts. The judgment of the High Court of Delhi considered the various nuances of enforceability of a non-compete agreement in a fixed term employment contract in India.

  • Successfully represented Om Metals Infraprojects Limited in an arbitration arising out of prolongation of contract and extension of time. The Tribunal has awarded a sum of approximately INR 450 million along with interest to the client.

  • Successfully represented Technocrats Advisory Services Private Limited in a writ petition against the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. The judgment of the High Court of Delhi considered whether a scheme of demerger would result in substitution of the transferee company in all the contracts with other party or not.

  • Mani has represented BHEL for defending against the claims of civil contractors (approximately Euro 26 million and USD 14 million) arising out of prolongation of two civil contracts awarded by BHEL to the said contractors for construction in a thermal power plant in Sudan.
