Ronald Josephson is Counsel practicing primarily with our Commercial Business Litigation and Employment and Labour Groups at Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP.
Ron has an extensive background in commercial litigation with a concentration on general business disputes, corporate governance issues, shareholder disputes and securities litigation.
Ron also has experience in employment matters, franchising disputes and in real estate litigation involving major commercial development, and landlord-tenant disputes.
He has appeared before the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of British Columbia, and the Federal Court of Canada, as well as before courts at all levels in South Africa.
During his years at a large international firm, Ron acted as lead Counsel on complex litigation cases before starting his own litigation boutique where he practiced for 17 years.
In April 2017, Ron was lead counsel in a precedent setting case in the BC Court of Appeal (Smithies Holdings Inc. v. RCV Holdings Ltd. 2017 BCCA 177 ). That case now provides guidance to the Courts and the profession on the issues of awards of ‘special costs’ in contested litigation.
Ron is known for his effective, tireless and dedicated advocacy on behalf of his clients in the litigation of business disputes.
