Mr. Yan Wang is the chairperson of the IP and Litigation Departments with over 100 practitioners. He focuses on contentious IP law practice in China.

Mr. Wang is highly regarded for his proven track record handling complex disputes, in particular cases involving PR/GR-related crisis management situations. His winning strategy repeatedly proves to be invaluable to numerous Fortune Global 500 companies with cross-border disputes. Whenever his clients face seemingly losing cases in China, Mr. Wang’s practical solutions can always reverse the trend with his well-thought strategy.

• Represented a world leading PC manufacturer in a global SEP dispute against Nokia. Helped the client to launch a series of counteractions in China against Nokia’s offensives in European courts, including FRAND lawsuit before Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court, administrative complaints before the regulatory organs and other supportive actions. Successfully frustrated Nokia’s legal blitzkrieg in Europe and creates a favourable plain for settlement negotiation.
• Represent a world leading smart phone manufacturer in a global SEP dispute against Ericsson. Helped the client to file massive number of patent invalidation requests against Ericsson’s SEPs before the CNIPA. The client’s dispute with Ericsson has a huge impact on telecommunication industry, and will re-shape the landscape of SEP-related global judicial practice.
• Represented a high-end US fashion brand in a series of trademark ownership and anti-counterfeit legal actions across China. Successfully helped the clients to shutdown multiple counterfeit stores in China with court litigation and administrative investigation, and defended the client’s high value brands against trademark squatters before the TMO.
