Kewei Law Firm recruited Peng Lei as an IP partner in its Beijing office. Lei specialises in IP disputes, with notable expertise in patents. He was previously with Han Kun Law Offices. Kewei Law Firm established a joint operation with international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills in 2019.

CMS hired Toby Sears as a partner in its London office. Sears, who specialises in patent litigation, joined from Allen & Overy. Soft IP associates Paul Sweeden and Melissa Li Trenta also joined in January 2022 from Locke Lord.

prins hired soft IP practitioner Chantal Koller to lead its new office in Geneva. Koller was previously with Novagraaf, where she was managing partner and head of trade marks.

Locke Lord strengthens in Europe
Locke Lord hired three soft IP practitioners in London: Dominic Farnsworth (partner), Giovanni Visintini (senior counsel) and Neale Christy (counsel). Farnsworth joined from Lewis Silkin, where he led the trade mark practice. The firm also welcomed IP lawyer Bart Lieben as a consultant in its Brussels office.
