The 2022 Benchmark Litigation United States
results are now live!

Law firm and individual rankings have been revealed.

Benchmark Litigation is the definitive guide to America's leading litigation law firms and lawyers.

It is the only publication on the market to focus exclusively on litigation in the US. Since its inception 14 years ago, the Benchmark brand has grown dramatically and garnered industry-wide accolades as the definitive hub for in-depth analysis of the players shaping the dynamic practice of litigation.

Research is conducted through extensive interviews with litigators, dispute resolution specialists and their clients to identify the leading litigators and firms. During these interviews, we examine recent casework handled by law firms and ask individual litigators to provide their professional opinions on peers and practitioners within their jurisdiction or practice area.

Benchmark Litigation provides state firm rankings, national firm rankings, lists of top litigation stars, and special designations. Benchmark also provides, where possible, detailed editorial analysis of key law firm activity including important, recent case work and analysis and client feedback on top litigators.

In addition Benchmark also provides rankings for more specific litigation practice areas including:

  • Antitrust
  • Appellate
  • Bankruptcy
  • General Commercial
  • Insurance
  • Intellectual Property
  • International Arbitration
  • Product Liability
  • Securities
  • White Collar Crime/Enforcement/Investigations

Thank you to all of the firms and attorneys with whom we have interacted or otherwise participated in this year's research process. It was an especially challenging year - our second (and hopefully last) year of being hindered by having to conduct interviews exclusively through Zoom, with no opportunity to connect in person with the practitioners and business development professionals who engage with us. This has historically been the backbone of our ensuring the integrity of our research as well as a crucial interactive opportunity, and we look forward to travelling and meeting with you all again as soon as nature allows. (That doesn't just apply to those of you in New York, DC, Chicago and San Francisco, either; we look forward to connecting with those in locales ranging from Seattle to Kansas City, from Cleveland to Birmingham, and anywhere else we can.) But, in spite of the challenges, we made it, and view this as even more of a triumph considering the obstacles and the navigation of the "new normal." I hope you will view this edition as our most comprehensive and dynamic one yet.

A special thank you to the below firms who generously supported this edition of Benchmark Litigation USA:
