Hogan Lovells represented Twitter in a recent fake news claim brought by European Deputy Ms Marie-Pierre and French Senator Mr Pierre Ouzoulias.

The claim was the first under the new French “fake news” law. The tweet in question related to events that took place at Pitié-Salpêtrière, a Parisian hospital.

The claim was dismissed by the Paris Civil court as the ruling by the judge stated that Twitter SAS was not the right entity to sue.
