Firm overview

Alto Litigation is a powerhouse litigation boutique based in San Francisco representing some of Silicon Valley’s most coveted companies and entrepreneurs in high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters, ranging from securities litigation, investment disputes, and SEC investigations to trade secrets and general commercial disputes.

Alto’s lead attorneys received degrees from the nation’s most elite law schools (Harvard, Yale), and have successfully represented Fortune 500 companies over the last two decades. The firm represents technology companies, entrepreneurs, officers, directors, employees and shareholders in Silicon Valley and beyond in high-stakes litigation.

Alto prides itself on being lean and efficient, with the close team of litigators achieving positive results for top executives and companies. Alto’s size allows it to offer clients alternative rate structures, including flat fee or contingency arrangements when appropriate. The results speak for themselves. On the plaintiffs’ side, the firm has achieved millions in judgments and settlements. On the defense side, the firm has achieved dismissals, arbitration wins, and early settlements.

These results have not gone unnoticed. In 2021, Benchmark Litigation ranked Alto as a Tier 1 Firm in San Francisco for Dispute Resolution and a Recommended Firm in California. Alto was also nominated for San Francisco Firm of the Year, California Securities Litigation Firm of the Year, and California White Collar Crime Litigation Firm of the Year. In 2022, Benchmark Litigation again ranked Alto Litigation as a Tier 1 Firm in San Francisco for Dispute Resolution and a Recommended Firm in California, and it added Alto as a Tier 2 Firm in California for Securities Litigation. Alto has also been recognized as a “Top Boutique” law firm by the Daily Journal.

Dispute Resolution
Alto Litigation is a San Francisco boutique focused on securities, complex commercial, trade secrets and intellectual property disputes, particularly in the technology sector. It represents companies, entrepreneurs, executives and investors in litigation, arbitration, investigations and pre-litigation counseling, combining trial advocacy with modern case management, e-discovery and responsible AI tools.

Founder Bahram Seyedin-Noor remains the firm’s central figure and is described as “excellent at strategy, very responsive, a strong ally to have on one’s side and a force to reckon with for opposing counsel.” With Bryan Ketroser, he represents Freightmate AI in a trade secrets action brought by Flexport. The team helped avert a preliminary-injunction motion and narrow the proposed relief; discovery is ongoing.

Seyedin-Noor also leads Alto’s representation of Mudflap in a multijurisdictional trade secrets dispute over fuel-payment technology. Working with Ketroser, Joshua Korr and Kevin O’Brien, he pursued coordinated litigation and arbitration, securing a substantial victory after a week-long merits hearing. The related California action is now in discovery. Ketroser has also distinguished himself in Teresa Yee-juen Ou, et al. v. Lyra Health, Inc., a securities dispute involving shares awarded to Lyra’s first employee. He defeated a demurrer and anti-SLAPP motion, later securing a favorable discovery ruling and $7,500 in sanctions.

Korr is another prominent member of the team. He defended Carlos Garcia in litigation arising from a $21 million Canadian class-action judgment, securing dismissal of several claims and helping achieve a settlement well below the asserted exposure and expected defense costs. Korr also leads Alto’s representation of Arkshire Financial in related California litigation and arbitration over alleged misuse of proprietary information, with O’Brien supporting the early enforcement strategy.

O’Brien adds experience across commercial and intellectual property litigation, while the wider team moves readily between courtroom disputes, arbitration and regulatory matters. Despite its compact size, Alto demonstrates the strategic range and procedural agility of a larger litigation platform, making it a notable presence in the California disputes market.
