The team remains a trusted counsel to Google in an investigation before the CCI in relation to Google Play Store’s payments policy and Google’s UPI payment app. Throughout the inquiry, the Chandhiok & Mahajan lawyers strategised Google’s defence, successfully arguing that the service fee charged by Google was not excessive. This matter was the first competition law challenge to the service fee charged by app stores from app developers in the country.
