Mr. Orenstein is the founder of the law firm Consumer Law Group. He received a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Montreal (2000) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from New York University (2001). Mr. Orenstein was called to the bar in 2002 (Québec) and in 2011 (Ontario). His practice is devoted primarily to plaintiff’s class action work (consumer protection, antitrust, drug, and product liability). Mr. Orenstein is lead counsel in multiple national and provincial class actions. He has appeared numerous times before the Quebec Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Quebec, and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Mr. Orenstein is a member of the Barreau du Québec’s Consumer Protection Committee, a Governor of the Fondation du Barreau du Québec, a Director of the Mount Sinai Hospital Board of Trustees, and a member of the County of Carlton Law Association (CCLA) Membership Committee.
He is a frequent speaker at class action conferences in Canada. Mr. Orenstein has been the attorney of record in over 200 reported cases in two provinces. He is regularly interviewed by media outlets in Canada, the U.S. and internationally about his cases, as well as, other legal matters of interest to the public.
