Marc was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He received his B.A. from York University (1983) and his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School (1986), where he was the Gold Medalist and received the Viscount Bennett Fellowship awarded annually to the most outstanding law student in Canada. In 1986, he served as law clerk to the Hon. Mr. Justice G.V. La Forest of the Supreme Court of Canada, and in 1987, received his LL.M. from Harvard Law School, where he specialized in comparative constitutional law. Marc was a partner of Munger, Tolles & Olson from 1995-2017. He was named to Lawdragon’s list of the 500 Leading Lawyers in America, and the Daily Journal’s “Top 100” lawyers in California, and was one of 134 lawyers nationwide named to the Client Services All-Star Team compiled by BTI Consulting based on its survey of GCs at over 200 Fortune 1000 companies.
Mr. Dworsky specializes in counseling, crisis management, and complex and high-stakes, bet-the-company litigation nationwide, with particular but not exclusive emphasis in the financial sector. His crisis management experience ranges from his role in the ’90s as one of the lead lawyers heading up the defense of Merrill Lynch in the multi-billion dollar litigation following Orange County’s bankruptcy, to serving as lead national counsel for both Wells Fargo and BofA in managing hundreds of billions of dollars in mortgage-based exposure throughout the credit crisis. A very significant portion of his work has occurred outside of the litigation process and beyond the public eye.
Representative clients have included BofA (and Merrill Lynch), Wells Fargo (and Wachovia), UBS (and PaineWebber), Citigroup, Western Asset Management, Brown Brothers Harriman, Coca-Cola, E*Trade, and Northrop Grumman.
