Alberto is a civil and commercial litigator with a broad practice encompassing contractual and commercial disputes, banking matters, product liability, defamation, public law, and class action defence. He advises clients in both contentious and strategic business matters and is regularly consulted on issues affecting their operations.

He has significant experience conducting workplace investigations, particularly in matters involving harassment and governance. He has also advised academic institutions and disciplinary bodies on procedural fairness, provided training on academic discipline, and contributed to the development and review of internal policies.

Alberto previously lectured at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Law, where he taught the law of obligations.

Earlier in his career, he worked in the securities sector at BCE Inc. and clerked for the Honourable André Rochon at the Québec Court of Appeal. He later practised at a respected boutique litigation firm, where he became Vice‑President, before joining LCM Attorneys Inc.

  • Representation of financial institutions in various disputes involving routine banking transactions, fees relating to financial products, refusal of financing, payment in error, loss of bank draft, falsified or altered cheques, Payments Canada rules, unauthorized withdrawals, fraud and termination of banking relationship.

  • Representation of landlords and tenants in commercial leasing matters, and advice in drafting and publishing commercial leases.

  • Representation of a manufacturer of electrical power transformers in connection with a hidden defect claim of approximately $100M.
