Joanne Luu, partner at Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP, is a leading disputes lawyer with a practice focused on complex commercial litigation and domestic and international arbitration. She has extensive experience acting in high‑stakes disputes involving energy and natural resources, construction, joint ventures, securities, and corporate and shareholder matters. Joanne regularly appears as counsel in arbitration proceedings seated in Canada and abroad, as well as before Canadian courts and regulatory tribunals.

Joanne is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is widely recognized as a thought leader in the arbitration space. She has authored and co‑authored leading publications on international arbitration and oil and gas disputes and is one of a select group of Canadian lawyers named to the Arbitration Place NextGen Arbitrators Roster.
