Representative cases include:
(1) Acted for the defendant in the second-instance appeal of the advertising contract dispute between Dadi Cinema (Group) Co., Ltd. and Pan Asia Huaying Advertising (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. The case resulted in a full reversal on appeal—an outcome rarely achieved in Chinese courts. It was included in Civil Second and Retrial Reversal Cases (Law Press, Apr 2023), compiled by the Beijing Lawyers Association.
(2) Acted for the defendant in the Baofeng Group/Feng Xin vs. China Everbright Bank equity-transfer dispute. The Beijing High People’s Court dismissed all of the plaintiff’s claims at first instance, resulting in a complete victory for the defendant. The case had significant market impact and was selected as one of the “Deals of the Year 2021” by China Business Law Journal in its Disputes & Investigations category.
(3) Represented Shanghai Jiulongshan Co., Ltd. (a company listed on both A- and B-share markets) in a series of equity and corporate control disputes, successfully obtaining a ruling from the Shanghai High People’s Court confirming the client's control. The case—one of the few “dual-board” boardroom disputes in China—attracted extensive national media coverage.
(4) Acted for HNA Real Estate Holding Co., Ltd. as plaintiff in a case against Zhejiang Jiulongshan International Tourism Development Co., Ltd., Resort Property International Ltd., Ocean Garden Holdings Ltd., and seven directors to recover short-swing trading profits. The court upheld all claims and ordered all seven directors to bear joint and several liability, resulting in a full victory.
(5) Represented SKP (Beijing Hualian Shin Kong Department Store) in its equity and corporate control dispute, ultimately restoring full control of the company to the client.
(6) Acted for Chang’an Airlines in its aircraft purchase dispute with Xi’an Aircraft Manufacturing Factory. Despite a complete defeat at first instance, Lawyer Lu secured a favorable settlement during the second-instance proceedings before the Shaanxi High People’s Court, avoiding nearly RMB 200 million in losses and resolving a dispute that had lasted for almost 20 years. The settlement also facilitated a new cooperation agreement between the two enterprises.
(7) As counsel to China Building Materials Equipment Co., Ltd., participated in its claim regarding the construction of a 10,000-ton-per-day cement production line in the UAE for Arkan Building Materials Co., achieving one of the largest single overseas contract claim recoveries obtained by a central SOE in the past decade.
