Matti is a Partner in the Disputes Group in BLG’s Calgary office. She is an experienced advocate in court and practices in all areas of commercial litigation. Matti regularly appears in court, with many reported decisions. She has represented parties in both domestic and international litigation and arbitration, handling many cross-border matters. She assists clients in a range of industry sectors, including intellectual property, oil and gas, construction, banking, technology, real property, utilities, insurance, mining and others. Matti has represented parties before all levels of court in Canada and the Federal Courts of Canada, the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Courts of the Falkland Islands, and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. She has acted as counsel in high-value and complex private and investor-state international arbitrations under ad hoc and institutional rules including ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, under treaties including NAFTA, WTO-TRIPS and Berne Convention and in domestic arbitrations under ADRIC rules. Matti was called to the Alberta Bar in 2010 and is the Environmental Group leader at BLG Calgary. She is a director of the ADR Institute of Canada.
