Alex is a nationally recognized trial attorney with extensive experience trying and winning cases in courts throughout the country. In 2021, after years of defending corporate clients, Alex launched Walsh Law to use her expertise and experience to fight for plaintiffs seeking justice in the nation’s courts. Recently, Alex brought the team she built at Walsh Law to Anapol Weiss, an already elite group of litigators expanding its trial and product liability practices to the national level.

Alex’s successes at trial are well-recognized, receiving accolades from the National Law Journal, New York Law Journal and Law360. She is honored to be a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Leadership in the Plaintiffs Bar

  • Co-chair of the Trial Committee and member of the Steering Committee in the Multi-District Litigation, In re: Uber Technologies, Passenger Sexual Assault Litigation.
  • Co-chair of the Trial Committee and member of the Executive Committee in the Multi-District Litigation, In re: Glucagon-like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists (GLP-1 RAS) Products Liability Litigation.
  • Co-chair of the Trial Committee and member of the Steering Committee in the Multi-District Litigation, In re: Baby Food Products Liability Litigation.
  • Co-chair of the Discovery Committee concerning the Meta Defendants and member of the Executive Committee in the Multi-District Litigation, In re: Social Media Adolescent Addiction/Personal Injury Products Liability Litigation.
  • Lead counsel in nationwide class action on behalf of parents misled regarding the safety of the Roblox platform, Murphy et al. v. Roblox Corporation (3:23-cv-01940).

Clerkships and Education:

Alex was honored to serve as law clerk to two of the country’s top jurists: the Honorable Merrick B. Garland, then a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and the Honorable Stephen G. Breyer, Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Alex attended Bowdoin College, where she graduated summa cum laude, was elected Phi Beta Kappa, and by far most importantly, met her husband Brendan O’Brien. After Bowdoin, Alex attended Stanford aw School, where she served on the Executive Board for the Law Review, loved mixing it up in moot court, and took great pride in winning the school’s prize for Best Oral Advocate.

Community Involvement

Alex serves on the board of D.C.’s Legal Aid Society, the city’s oldest and largest civil legal services organization. She also represents Legal Aid clients in landlord-tenant disputes. In addition, Alex is a board member for LIFT-DC, a national non-profit dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty for families with children through targeted career, education, and financial coaching. Most recently, Alex has begun volunteering with public charter school DC Prep, where she mentors middle school students.
