David Madsen, K.C., FCIArb is a Calgary‑based senior counsel at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP with a broad commercial litigation and dispute resolution practice. He regularly represents Canadian and international clients in complex litigation and arbitration across a wide range of industries, with particular depth in oil and gas, electricity generation, intellectual property, cybersecurity, class actions defence, shareholders’ rights, mergers and acquisitions disputes, insolvency and banking litigation, fraud and fidelity‑related actions, and land‑related claims. David has extensive experience with extraordinary remedies, including Anton Piller orders and Mareva injunctions, and has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, courts in several other provinces, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as before the Alberta Securities Commission and in domestic and international arbitrations.

David was called to the Alberta Bar in 1988. He is a former member of BLG’s Partnership Board, the firm’s governing body, and is widely recognized for his leadership in complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters.
