Duncan Marsden, KC is a partner in BLG’s Calgary office and the firm’s Regional Group Manager of Specialized Litigation, practising in all areas of labour and employment law. He advises employers on dismissal procedures, dispute resolution, workforce reductions, employment litigation, and corporate due diligence, as well as on employment-related documentation, workers’ compensation, human rights and discrimination matters, and the interpretation of employment contracts and policies. Duncan frequently delivers employment law training, including programs for provincial civil court judges. Before joining BLG, he practised employment law in London, England, with an international law firm. Duncan acts as a part-time Commissioner for the Alberta Human Rights Commission. He also broke a world record for the fastest linked marathon as a charitable fundraising initiative.
Duncan was called to the England and Wales Bar in 2000 and the Alberta Bar in 2009.
Duncan was appointed to the King's Counsel in 2024.
