Michael is a partner in Baker McKenzie’s Dispute Resolution and Global Restructuring & Insolvency groups. He focuses on complex commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on shareholder disputes, fraud enforcement strategies and asset tracing, including matters involving fraudulent investment schemes, mortgage fraud, and credit fraud. He regularly acts for victims of large‑scale, Canada‑wide investment frauds and has a strong track record of recovering misappropriated assets.

Michael also advises clients on a wide range of restructuring and insolvency matters, including bankruptcies and receiverships, as well as employment and pension issues arising in corporate liquidations and restructurings. He appears frequently before the Commercial List in Toronto and has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a regular speaker, author, and media commentator on fraud and insolvency‑related issues.
