Mr. Baisha ZHANG is a partner of Zhong Lun Law Firm. • Representation of Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation (“GDAMR”) in connection with an administrative litigation believed to be the first action involving penalty and enforcement against horizontal monopoly agreement in Guangdong Province, which resulted in judgments in favour of the GDAMR by the Guangzhou IP court and the PRC Supreme Court.This case was named the ten landmark anti-monopoly cases of people’s courts and the landmark cases of IP Tribunal in 2022 by the PRC Supreme Court and was cited in the 2022 Summary of Fundamental Principles from the Judgments of the IP Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court. It was also selected as the 100 Typical Cases for the Fifth Anniversary of the Establishment of the IP Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court.
• Representation of GDAMR in a successful antitrust trial against a trade association organizing horizontal monopoly agreement, obtaining dismissal of the complaint by the Guangzhou IP court. This case was awarded as one of the ten landmark anti-monopoly cases of people’s courts as well as the High-Quality Judgment of IP Tribunal in 2022 by the PRC Supreme Court, and was named the ten landmark cases of Guangzhou IP Court in 2021.
• As the leading counsel, advising Galanz in obtaining merger clearances in multiple jurisdictions and ensuring antitrust compliance for its public tender offer to acquire the equity interests in Whirlpool (China) Co., Ltd., which was awarded by asialaw Profiles as “Impact Deal of Year in 2022” and as “Deals of the Year in 2021” by China Business Law Journal.
