A partner in the Litigation Department and Deputy Chair of the Investment Management Litigation Practice Group, David Friedman focuses his practice on a wide variety of commercial litigation disputes and criminal and regulatory defense. He has significant experience litigating in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels. David has advised clients on topics including securities fraud, cybersecurity, market manipulation, and employment law. He has also represented clients in internal investigations and at all stages of criminal and regulatory investigations and proceedings. David is also listed in Lawdragon’s 2024 “The Next Generation” list.

While at Columbia Law School, David was a James Kent Scholar and a recipient of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Prize.  He served as Executive Notes Editor of the Columbia Law Review. He also held clerkships with Hon. Naomi Reice Buchwald of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and Hon. Amalya L. Kearse of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
