Dharmendra is a partner at Poovayya & Co., a leading full-service law firm in India. Dharmendra's experience spans across courts at various levels in India and other parts of the world including the United Kingdom, DIFC, ADGM, UAE, EU, and the United States. He is currently overseeing legal strategy and representation of five large multi-billion dollar commercial disputes in London, New York, Seattle, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.

Dharmendra is passionate about academics and has been a visiting faculty at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and is also invited regularly as a guest lecturer/adjunct faculty by various law schools. He is also a published author having recently revised the 18th edition of Avtar Singh's Company Law (Eastern Book Company 2025).

Dharmendra holds an LLM from the University of Chicago Law School and a BA, LLB (Hons.) from Christ University, and has been recognized as one of Asian Legal Business' Rising Stars in India and as a Rising Star practictioner by IFLR 1000. At UChicago, he was awarded a Merit Scholarship and the Sajan Poovayya Scholarship for Advanced Legal Studies. At Christ, he graduated as the valedictorian and awarded the Basant Kumar Sarala Birla Gold Medal for Best Outgoing Student. At both schools, he was elected as the Class Speaker.
