Dong (Eric) Liu

Mr. Liu specializes in cross-border dispute resolution. He is distinguished not only by his outstanding experience and skill in contentious dispute resolution such as arbitration and litigation, but also by his talent and strategic thinking in non-contentious dispute resolution; he also has extensive experience in assisting clients to develop and establish efficient legal risk management mechanisms. He is knowledgeable of the commercial environment in China and is well-recognized for resolving issues for clients in various industries. Mr. Liu has represented many well-known multinational corporations in high-profile arbitrations and litigations and has always obtained favorable judgments/awards for his clients. Mr. Liu has extensive experience in representing clients in domestic and overseas arbitral institutions and has ample experience in representing clients before courts of various levels, including the Supreme People’s Court of China. Mr. Liu has also assisted clients as a Chinese law expert witness in various overseas arbitrations and litigations. 

• Mr. Liu is the leading counsel for Red Bull China, the No.1 company in its industry in a series of disputes in connection with corporate controlling right, commercial cooperation, ownership of Red Bull Trademarks and etc. It is one of the biggest joint venture disputes in recent years and has attracted extensive public attention. The dispute involves dozens of litigations among which 6 cases are being tried by the Supreme Court of China.
• Mr. Liu is the leading counsel for the first majority shareholder of Bitmain in the corporate controlling right dispute. The dispute involves more than 20 legal proceedings in both Cayman Islands and Mainland China.
