Janus Schutte is a partner in the Paul, Weiss Litigation Department. He has extensive experience handling a broad range of sensitive regulatory and complex commercial litigation matters, particularly on behalf of financial institutions, as well as investment advisors and their portfolio companies. In addition to his litigation and trial experience, Janus has helped numerous clients navigate internal investigations, enforcement proceedings, and Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering matters.

Janus also maintains a robust pro bono practice with a focus on gun violence. He has represented the Sandy Hook families in a landmark $73 million settlement for their wrongful death suit against Remington Arms—the first suit of its kind nationally to pierce the legal immunity of firearms manufacturers and hold them accountable for the harm caused by their products.

Janus has also assisted financial institutions with supervisory exams, enforcement actions, remediation action plans, internal investigations, and ongoing regulatory communications.
