A partner in the Litigation Department, Jeff Recher is a highly versatile and accomplished attorney who handles complex commercial litigation, as well as internal and other corporate investigations, across a range of subject matters. Jeff focuses his practice on civil litigation, and has substantial experience representing clients, including at trial and in arbitrations, in connection with disputes involving antitrust, securities, employment, bankruptcy, environmental issues, M&A and other complex commercial transactions.


Jeff’s clients span a number of industries including media, technology, pharmaceuticals, private equity, banking, manufacturing, retail, industry organizations and more. Jeff also represents individuals, boards of directors, board committees and an array of ad-hoc groups of shareholders across various industries in high-stakes matters. Jeff has achieved outstanding results for clients in state, federal district and federal circuit courts in jurisdictions around the country, as well as before arbitral panels. 


Additionally, Jeff maintains an active pro bono practice. He currently co-leads the representation of victims of the deadly July 4, 2022 mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois in several lawsuits in Illinois state court asserting that Smith & Wesson intentionally markets its rifles to “disturbed young men” who have repeatedly perpetrated mass shootings. He previously represented pro bono clients challenging President Trump’s travel ban.


Jeff earned his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University, with honors, and his J.D. from Cornell Law School, cum laude, where he was an editor of the Cornell Law Review.
