Julia Beskin is a partner in the Litigation Group at Schulte Roth & Zabel. She is a corporate and commercial litigator, with particular expertise in M&A-related litigation, shareholder rights, and claims arising under the federal securities laws and state blue sky laws. Julia has extensive experience litigating in the Delaware Court of Chancery, including disputes related to limited partnerships and limited liability companies, breach of fiduciary duties, breaches of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, demand for corporate books and records, dissolution and winding up. Julia also advises boards of directors on issues of corporate governance. 


Ms. Beskin is also an experienced trial lawyer who has tried cases in state and federal courts across the country, as well as in arbitration. As first chair, she secured a total victory in a JAMS arbitration, prevailing entirely on her client’s claim and successfully defending against a $100 million counterclaim. 


Since 2019, Ms. Beskin has been named a Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyer annually by Lawdragon500. She is a frequent contributor to Financier Worldwide on issues of corporate governance and Delaware law, writing on topics including “Waiver of statutory stockholder rights under Delaware law,” “Fiduciary duties of directors appointed by private equity firms: pitfalls and best practices,” and “Director & officer indemnification and advancement provisions under Delaware law.” She holds a J.D., with honors, from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, and a B.A., with honors, with high distinction, from the University of Toronto.
