Kaley has more than a decade of experience litigating a broad range of commercial disputes, libel/defamation claims, and labour arbitrations. Her clients include corporations, government organizations, media, and individuals who often call on her to tackle complex cases that intersect with public law, human rights, criminal, and/or constitutional law issues.

Called to the bar in both Ontario (2010) and British Columbia (2024), Kaley has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court and Court of Appeal, the British Columbia Supreme Court, administrative tribunals, and in labour arbitrations and coroner inquests.

As an experienced media and libel/defamation lawyer and advocate for free expression rights, Kaley often represents and advises media and non-profit organizations on pre-publication issues, libel claims, publication bans, anti-SLAPP motions, and access to information requests. She is a Board Member of the Canadian Media Lawyers Association.

Kaley has dedicated thousands of hours to pro bono legal services, including work with Justice for Children and Youth, and Habitat for Humanity, as well as spearheading a project to help young people in Canada regularize their immigration status. She also represents civil liberties organizations, media groups, and journalists in advocating for Charter rights and open courts, and to obtain access to government and court records.
