Class action
Margaret L. Waddell brings to her clients 35 years of experience in successfully prosecuting and resolving class actions and complex civil disputes.
Margaret is recognized as a leading lawyer in the field of class actions, and has acted as class counsel on a number of prominent and precedent-setting cases. She is regularly sought out to lead class actions, or to partner with other firms who need additional bench strength. Margaret is also a trained mediator and arbitrator. She focuses her practice on achieving quality results for her clients, creatively, efficiently and, importantly, in a cost-effective manner. She has broad experience in solving all manner of commercial conflicts, including contract disputes, insurance and professional liability claims, shareholder disputes, and other commercial contro- versies.
Margaret is a bencher of the Law Society of Ontario, and sits on the LSO Tribunal. She is a past president of the Toronto Lawyers Association, past president of the Ontario Bar Association Class Actions Section, past chair of The Advocates’ Society Class Action Practice Group, and was a member of the Canadian Bar Association National Class Actions Task Force on Multijurisdictional Class Actions.
