Mathieu Piché-Messier is the National Business Leader, Commercial Litigation. He has significant experience in both civil and commercial litigation, particularly in the areas of commercial fraud, high technology, industrial espionage, identity theft, international and domestic arbitration, recognition and enforcement of Arbitral awards, aviation law, competition law, entertainment law, and intellectual property rights. Mathieu was a member of the parliamentary committees of the National Assembly responsible for reform of the Québec Code of Civil Procedure.
He was recognized by his peers for inclusion in the most recent edition (and since 2015) of The Best Lawyers in Canada (Corporate and Commercial Litigation), and (since 2013) in Benchmark Canada — The Definitive Guide to Canada’s Leading Litigation Firms & Attorneys as a Litigation Star and a Top 50 Trial Lawyer in Canada. He has also been ranked by Chambers and Partners in Commercial Litigation for Québec since 2018.
He was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) in 2018, as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsels of America in 2021, and was named Advocatus Emeritus (Ad. E.) of the Barreau du Québec in 2022. Mathieu was called to the Barreau du Québec in 1998.
