Muhammad Faridi is a partner in the Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice at Linklaters LLP and serves as President of the New York City Bar Association—the youngest and first Muslim-American to hold that position. As President, he established the Presidential Task Force on Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, convening over 150 experts from law, academia, business, and government.

Recognized as a go-to litigator for complex commercial cases, Muhammad represents clients across many industries. He has tried high-stakes cases, securing a $2 billion jury verdict for a software company, a $1.85 billion settlement for a financial services company, and a landmark $42 million pro bono verdict for Iraqi nationals tortured at Abu Ghraib prison.

Muhammad’s trial success has earned considerable recognition. Most recently, he was listed as a finalist for the American Lawyer’s Attorney of the Year award. Lawdragon listed him in its 2025 Leading Litigators in America, and Benchmark Litigation has named him a “Litigation Star” for New York in 2023 and 2024. He is one of the few lawyers who has been honored as The American Lawyer’s “Litigator of the Week” multiple times.  He has also been honored as Law360’s “Legal Lion of the Week,” and included multiple times in City & State’s “Law Power 100.”

In February 2023, Muhammad was appointed to oversee the NYPD’s compliance with investigations of political activity. He previously served on the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on the Judiciary, ensuring highly qualified judicial appointments. He has been elected to the American Law Institute.

Muhammad served as Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School, co-edited Commercial Division Practice Guide (Bloomberg), and has presented to the New York State Judicial Institute.

He also previously served as a law clerk to Judge Jack B. Weinstein, Senior U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of New York.
