Robin brings more than 40 years of experience in trial practice to the benefit of his clients. In the initial years of his career, he honed his trial skills as a criminal defence lawyer, practicing principally in the area of white-collar crime. He then transferred his advocacy skills into the civil litigation arena. Robin’s practice focuses on civil litigation and commercial arbitrations in a broad variety of areas including complex commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, derivative actions, real estate litigation, professional liability and employment law/wrongful dismissal. Robin is often referred to as the “lawyer’s lawyer” and is well known for his adept representation of fellow members of the bar in regulatory matters and internal partnership disputes. Robin has been appointed as a Special Prosecutor several times by the Ministry of the Attorney General for British Columbia in politically sensitive investigations and prosecutions. Robin was appointed Queen’s Counsel (now King’s Counsel) in 2003. Robin is active in the legal community, having served on the Board of Directors and Board of Governors of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia. Robin is a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers. For many years Robin was the session leader for the cross-examination sessions of the University of British Columbia Trial Advocacy Course.
