Stacy was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She was the Managing Partner of JSS Barristers from 2015 to early 2018. Stacy's practice focuses on civil, corporate, and commercial litigation, including professional negligence. She has experience in class actions and insolvency, has appeared at every level of the Alberta courts and has conducted and assisted with numerous trials and appeals.

Stacy has expertise in e‑discovery and e‑trials, having conducted one of the first civil e‑trials in Calgary. Her expertise extends to document management in complex cases. She has published and presented frequently on e‑discovery and e‑trials including document management in complex litigation.

Stacy is the Past President of the Law Society of Alberta (LSA). She was an elected Bencher of the LSA from 2018 to 2026 and a member of the Executive Committee from 2021 to 2026. She was a member of every strategic committee and served as Chair of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Policy and Regulatory Reform, Conduct, and Audit and Finance Committees and the Bencher Election Task Force, and Vice‑Chair of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Lawyer Competence Committees.

Stacy served on the Consolidated Regulatory, Conduct and Practice Review Committees. She sat on the Innovating in Regulation and Strategic Plan Task Forces. She is a member of the Complaint Dismissal Appeals Working Group. Stacy serves on the Alberta Law Reform Institute board and the Alberta Judicial Committee.

From 2022–2025, Stacy was named one of Benchmark Canada’s Top 100 Women in Canadian Litigation. She is also a Benchmark Litigation Star. Previously, she was recognized as a Future Star by Benchmark Litigation.

In 2020, Stacy received her Queen’s Counsel (now King’s Counsel) designation.

Stacy is the President of the Law Society of Alberta (LSA), the organization that regulates lawyers. She is an elected Bencher (Member) of the Board of Directors at the LSA and has been a Member of the Executive Committee since 2021. She is a Member of the Policy and Regulatory Reform Committee, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Lawyer Competence Committee and Complaint Dismissal Appeals Working Group. Previously, she was Chair of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Chair of the Policy and Regulatory Reform Committee, Chair of the Conduct Committee, Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee, Vice-Chair of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Vice-Chair of the Lawyer Competence Committee. She also chaired the Bencher Election Task Force. Stacy is also a member of numerous other committees, such as the Consolidated Regulatory Committees (Assurance Fund Adjudications (Finance), Complaint Dismissal Appeals, Credentials and Education and Trust Safety), Conduct Committee and the Practice Review Committee.
