Baosheng Zhang of Zhong Lun Law Firm wins ‘China Lawyer of the Year’at the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2022 Awards

Baosheng Zhang is delighted to have been chosen as China Lawyer of the Year at the prestigious 2022 Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards. Zhang saw off strong competition from litigators who have performed exceptionally at both local and national levels.

“Veteran corporate and securities litigator Baosheng Zhang wins our China lawyer of the year award for leading on multiple noteworthy cases over the past year. He is a star in the contentious regulatory space, lauded for his creative solutions, strategic mindset and vast scope of knowledge of the securities regime and authorities. In an ongoing securities matter, he is acting on the country’s first case of a civil compensation dispute over the fraudulent issuance of company bonds. This is the seminal matter applying a representative litigation system in securities misrepresentation disputes and its first instance judgement triggered an enormous response in the capital markets sector. Last year, Zhang also went to battle for the director of Leshi Internet Information & Technology Corporation in a rare administrative penalty CSRC case. After Zhang and his team carefully sorted out the complex facts and effectively argued their client’s case, the securities regulator revoked a previous court’s guilty finding and significantly reduced the defendant’s fine and market ban sentence.”
