The 2018 inaugural edition of Benchmark Litigation Labor & Employment went to press in September, and rankings and editorial are now published online!
Owing to a rising chorus of demand from practitioners, the Benchmark team set out to find the best and brightest law firms and partners who stand out in their labor and employment practices throughout the US. The demand for this independent study was not just driven simply by the attorneys attending to this specialty in private practice; throughout the course of our research, we have queried in-house counsel on the top issues keeping them up at night. A pronounced development produced through this query has been the unquestionable pivot of labor and employment issues to front and center, in recent years specifically placing among the top five. Over several months of extensive research, the editorial team conducted interviews with individuals to learn about their recent work and discuss their feedback on the current labor and employment market. The team also distributed multiple surveys – one for firms to highlight recent casework, one for individual lawyers, and another for clients to provide their feedback. Our deep dive into the labor and employment practice area covered most of the US states with particular emphasis on California, District of Columbia, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Illinois, Texas, Florida, and Washington. The goal of Benchmark Labor & Employment is to continue to expand to include all US states as we continue on our venture to showcase the labor and employment market.
