Cleveland
Patent Star Adrian Bradley has been appointed to the Business Advisory Board of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry (IOCB), a public research institute based in Prague, Czech Republic. Bradley will advise the IOCB on protection and commercialisation of inventions arising from its research activity.

Fieldfisher
Fieldfisher hired IP litigator Diego Rigatti from Osborne Clarke, where he was Head of Life Sciences. Rigatti joined as partner, bringing with him senior associate Pietro Giorgio Castronovo and trainee Filippo Attanasio. Rigatti is known for representing clients in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, while Castronovo handles transactional IP work. The team is based in Milan.

Katten Muchin Rosenman
IP trial attorney Terence Ross has joined Katten Muchin Rosenman as partner in its IP practice. He was formerly at Crowell & Moring where he was co-Chair of the Trade mark and Brand Protection group. Ross is renowned for representing clients in a range of IP and related disputes. He is based in the firm’s Washington DC office.

Marks & Clerk
Marks & Clerk has announced the promotion of five associates to partner in its offices in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. In the UK they are European patent attorneys Graham McGlashan and Mike Williams and solicitor Dafydd Bevan, and trade mark attorney Cynthia Houng in Hong Kong and patent attorney Upasana Patel in Singapore. The firm also promoted several patent attorneys and solicitors to senior and managing associates in the UK.

Rouse promoted Yen Vu and Bassel El Turk to partner in Vietnam and the UAE respectively. Both Vu and El Turk advise clients on contentious and non-contentious IP matters. El Turk was described as a “rising IP Star” in the 2016 edition of Managing Intellectual Property IP Stars.
