Kenaroglu recruits partner
Boutique firm Kenaroglu hired soft IP practitioner Mine Güner Sunay from Esin Attorney Partnership, a member firm of Baker McKenzie International. The former head of IP will join in January 2023.
De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek promotes two Rising Stars
De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek promoted IP transactions specialist Roos van der Poel and litigator Selmer Bergsma to counsel in December 2022.
August Debouzy recruits Rising Star
Pierre Pérot joined August Debouzy from Hoyng Rokh Monegier in December 2022. Pérot was recognised in the 2022 edition of Managing IP’s Rising Stars publication.
Powell Gilbert continues to expand
Powell Gilbert welcomed Jodie Goonawardena from Davies Collison Cave Australia in November 2022. Goonawardena joined as an associate litigator. This is the firm’s latest associate hire, following the arrival of James Bergus in September; Douglas Jayatilaka in August; and Adam Mackinnon in April.
Cuatrecasas and SLCM sign integration agreement in Portugal
Portuguese firm Serra Lopes, Cortes Martins & Associado (SLCM) will become part of Cuatrecasas in January 2023. SLCM managing partner Luís Cortes Martins is now a senior partner at Cuatrecasas.
Bird & Bird expands IP team in Ireland
IP litigator Michael Finn will join Bird & Bird as partner in January 2023. He was previously with Pinsent Masons.
Hogan Lovells appoints new global IP leader
Dusseldorf-based IP partner Miriam Gundt has been appointed as Hogan Lovells’ global managing partner of the IPMT group, effective on January 1, 2023. Gundt replaces IP Star Burkhart Goebel, who held the post since 2018.
Rouse acquires Swedish IP firm
Rouse announced its acquisition of Valea in December 2022. This news comes a few months after Managing IP reported that a UK private equity firm bought a stake in Rouse.
Norton Rose Fulbright grows IP team in Germany
The international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright hired European patent attorney Ronak Kalhor-Witzel from Infineon Technologies, where she held the role of director corporate patents. She will join the firm in January 2023.
Bardehle Pagenberg hires Tobias Wuttke
Meissner Bolte’s head of legal Tobias Wuttke will join Bardehle Pagenberg as a partner in January 2023.
Brown Rudnick bolsters IP team
IP litigator David Knight joined Brown Rudnick in December 2022 as a partner in its IP department. Knight was previously with Fieldfisher.
Maiwald strengthens soft IP practice
Aliki Busse and her team from Busse & Partner will join Maiwald in January 2023. Busse specialises in soft IP, especially trade mark and design law.
