IP litigators Yar Chaikovsky and Phil Ou join White & Case
Global law firm White & Case has expanded its IP practice by hiring IP litigators Yar Chaikovsky and Phil Ou. Chaikovsky will join as the new Head of Technology and Ou will join as a partner. Chaikovsky and Ou were both previously at Paul Hastings.
Perkins Coie hires Thomas Yee as a partner
Perkins Coie has recently hired prosecution partner Thomas Yee to its New York office. Prior to joining Yee was a partner at Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear.
Foley & Lardner adds new partner
Foley & Lardner has hired litigation specialist Michael Andrew Holtman as a partner in its IP litigation practice in Washington. Holtman was previously a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
Womble Bond Dickinson expands its IP practice
Womble Bond Dickinson has hired five lawyers from Moyles IP to expand its patent prosecution and litigation practice. The new additions include Lisa Moyles, Jason Radachy, Jason Rockman, Janelle O'Neill, and Bradley Shelowitz.
Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani hires James V Fazio III
Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani has added new partner James V Fazio III to its commercial and IP litigation practice in San Diego. Fazio previously served as special counsel at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton.
Jason Markwell and Rebecca Crane form Markwell
Patent litigation lawyers Jason Markwell and Rebecca Crane have formed a new IP firm, Markwell. Prior to this, Markwell was a partner at Fasken while Crane was a counsel at McCarthy Tétrault.
Frost Brown Todd hires seven IP practitioners
Frost Brown Todd hired a team of IP lawyers and patent attorneys in April 2023 as partners in its Cincinnati office. The IP lawyers are Vance V VanDrake III, Eric Robbins, Paul Ulrich, and John Bennett, while the patent attorneys are Clay Kuhnell, Duke Haugh, and Seth Voit. They were previously with Ulmer & Berne, where VanDrake III and Robbins were practice leaders. Ulrich and Bennett specialise in litigation.

Patent specialist Matthew Jones joins RPC as a partner
International law firm RPC has added a new partner and patent specialist, Matthew Jones, to its IP and technology practice in London. Jones was previously a partner at the boutique patent firm EIP.
K&L Gates gets a new managing partner
Tyler Hong-Shik Won has been appointed managing partner of K&L Gates’ Seoul office. Won specialises in IP disputes and antitrust matters.
De Brauw reinforces the IP team
De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek announced that NautaDutilh's Dutch IP practice leader, Anne Marie Verschuur, will join as a partner in its practice. This is an important and swift move by De Brauw following the departure of its leading patent litigator, Gertjan Kuipers, this month.
Thomas Adlocker joins Taylor Wessing
Thomas Adlocker has joined the Patent and Regulatory team at Taylor Wessing’s Vienna office as a partner. Adlocker was previously a partner at Schwarz Schönherr.
Brand protection company acquires Zacco
OpSec Security announced, on April 18 2023, that it has completed its acquisition of Zacco. It remains to be seen how the IT company will run Zacco.
HGF expands practice in Europe
HGF has expanded its practice its office relocation in Dublin and the opening of another office in Belfast. The offices will be led by partner Craig Thomson.
