D Young & Co has expanded its Munich IP team by hiring trade mark lawyer Yvonne Stone as an associate. Stone will work alongside IP practitioners such as Jana Bogatz, who joined last year as a partner.

Cabinet Granrut rebranded as Herald Avocats in December 2018. The Paris-based law firm, which celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, has a range of practice areas including soft IP. Jean Castelain and Richard Milchior are the key IP practitioners in the firm.

Mathys & Squire hired European patent attorney Gerold Fiesser from Herzog Fiesser & Partner to establish its new office in Munich. Fiesser, who co-founded Herzog Fiesser & Partner in 2010, brought along some patent colleagues including Giuditta Biagini, Lorraine Aleandri and Kirstin Wenck. The IP practitioners left behind at Herzog Fiesser & Partner have now formed a new firm called Altmann Stößel Dick Patentanwälte.

Lewis Silkin acquired patent and trade mark attorney firm Ablett & Stebbing, with patent attorneys Graham Ablett, Paul Williams and Thomas Gaunt joining as partners. This bolt-on acquisition means that patent protection will become part of the firm’s IP protection and portfolio management offering. The new partners joined with their support staff including trade mark associate Helene Whelbourn.

Reddie & Grose has welcomed back pharmaceutical/chemistry specialist Robin Ellis as its first full-time Munich-based partner. Ellis was previously an in-house counsel at Sandoz.


Promotions
