The second edition of Managing Intellectual Property Rising Stars will be officially announced in November 2019. We will publish an announcement in November after the publication has gone to press and all the individuals featured in the publication have been listed on this website. We will notify those who made this year's edition about their listing.
About the Rising Stars list
Each year we receive and analyse a lot of information, including client feedback, concerning junior IP practitioners (below partner or equivalent level) but only mention a few of them in our editorials. Following market feedback, Managing Intellectual Property decided to launch a Rising Stars publication in 2018 to highlight some of the best up-and-coming young IP practitioners who contribute to the success of their firms and clients. All things being equal, these practitioners have the potential to become future leaders in their firms and jurisdiction.
Rising stars typically have less than 10 years post-qualification experience, but individuals with more than 10 years of experience may also be considered and selected. This year’s publication will be based on all the information obtained during the research period for the 2019 edition of IP STARS (September 2018 to February 2019). Although selection is primarily based on an individual’s track record and expertise, we can also take account of activities outside work.
The Rising Stars publication complements the other two special annual lists we have: the Corporate IP Stars list (in-house IP practitioners) and the Top 250 Women in IP list (the leading female IP practitioners in private practice). All three special listings are produced entirely by the IP STARS research team. Like with any IP STARS publication, the Rising Stars list is subject to change each year and there will be many individuals, firms and jurisdictions that are not featured. Each year our aim is to feature as many firms, individuals and jurisdictions as reasonably possible.
IP STARS research is conducted rigorously and impartially. No firm or individual can pay to be ranked or to influence the results. There is no fee to participate in the research. Read our methodology for the firm rankings and individual practitioner listings here.
