Barnes & Thornburg has opened a second office in Michigan through the hire of a veteran labor and employment lawyer.

The firm is opening up in Southfield, greater Detroit with the new office led by Frank Mamat, an addition from Foster Swift Collins & Smith.

The office is the firm's second in the state after Grand Rapids. Located at 3000 Town Center, Suite 2440, the new location is the firm's 15th nationwide and will look to grow in the areas of labor and employment, corporate, environmental, intellectual property and litigation.

Mamat focuses on labor law matters including counseling on union avoidance and employee strikes, the negotiation of a variety of labor contracts and agreements and the management of workplace fatality matters under OSHA and MIOSHA.
