Dispute resolution

Tsai Lee & Chen, a full-service intellectual property law firm, is renowned for its patent litigation practice. The firm serves clients in the semiconductor, financial technology, artificial intelligence, and pharmaceutical sectors. Victor S.C. Lee leads the firm, with key team members including Crystal J. Chen and Jesse K.Y. Peng.

During the research period, the team represented Inergy, a MOSFET chip supplier, in securing a damages award of NT$1 million ($33,333) against Force Mos for unfair competition involving expired foreign patents. Force Mos designs, develops and sells MOSFETs and analog integrated circuits in Taiwan and mainland China. This case garnered significant attention in Taiwan's IP community, highlighting that Taiwan's anti-competitive laws can apply to warnings of foreign patent infringement.

Previously, the team successfully reversed an unfavourable judgment for TSH Biopharm against AstraZeneca after a patent expired, winning the firm's first pharmaceutical-patent linkage suit. They also helped Lady M establish an estoppel at the end of a design patent invalidation, likely deterring potential infringement actions by the design holder.

Key clients include Applied Materials, ARM, Blum, Qualcomm, Corning, Illinois Tool Works and Nike.
