Brittani A. Jackson represents clients in a broad range of matters, including commercial contract disputes, privacy issues, trade secret misappropriation, shareholder activism, issues of corporate governance, antitrust, and securities litigation.
She has also represented clients in investigations conducted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and various state attorneys general and has spearheaded numerous internal corporate investigations. She is praised by clients to Chambers as an “excellent” and “very skilled” lawyer who is “focused on value and is very responsive.”
Ms. Jackson regularly counsels clients and provides guidance related to overarching trial and litigation strategy. From aggressive motion practice to securing favorable settlements after strategic discovery efforts, her efforts have gained her the trust of clients and colleagues alike.
Ms. Jackson recently participated in the Trial Advocacy Project at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where she was the lead trial attorney in a criminal case.
Among Ms. Jackson’s victories, she recently successfully represented Endo Pharmaceuticals in litigation related to opioid abuse in the U.S. District Court in San Francisco. Following extensive fact and expert development that strengthened Endo’s position, the case favorably settled on the eve of trial. She also obtained a favorable settlement, after a week of trial, for Synchrony Financial (formerly GE Capital)in a lawsuit involving breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation, and alter ego claims.
Additionally, Ms. Jackson represented Bill McGlashan, founder of TPG Growth LLC and The Rise Fund, in the “Varsity Blues” college admissions case. She secured a unique plea agreement dismissing the “side door” scheme and preserving the right to appeal.
Ms. Jackson is handling numerous high-profile pending matters, including defending Amazon and its Twitch subsidiary against highly complex litigation attempting to hold social media companies liable for the racially motived shooting of multiple people by a social media user.
Among her involvements, Ms. Jackson serves as chair of Friends of the Los Angeles County Law Library and as treasurer of the Inner City Law Center. She’s also a former member of the Black Women Lawyers Scholarship Committee.
Ms. Jackson has been recognized among the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Women of Influence: Attorneys” and “Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys.” She was also named to The Recorder’s “Lawyers on the Fast Track,” as well as the National Black Lawyers’ “Top 100” and “Top 40 Under 40” lists, among other accolades.
Ms. Jackson earned her B.A. from Stanford University, her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
