Jim Bunting is a founding partner of Tyr LLP. Known for his bold approach as a trial lawyer, Jim represents clients on their most challenging issues across a diverse range of areas. He has been lead counsel in a number of landmark cases, including representing Google in a Reference Application concerning whether there is a “right to be forgotten” in Canada, acting for South African–born Olympic champion Caster Semenya (and before her, Dutee Chand) in arbitration proceedings to strike down discriminatory regulations, and successfully defending wind farm developers constitutional challenge to Ontario’s issuance of a renewable energy licence. Jim is consistently named one of Canada’s leading litigators.
