Jennifer Truelove is an accomplished trial lawyer whose trial skills have been sought after and used in a broad range of cases.  Her focus involves intellectual property, antitrust, whistleblower and contract dispute litigation. In September 2023, Jennifer was inducted to the American College of Trial Lawyers. This achievement is secured by invitation only to a very select group of experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of trial advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality.

Jennifer has been involved in many of the most significant trials that have taken place in the Eastern District of Texas (EDTX) in recent years. Collectively, since 2014, Jennifer has played an important role on McKool Smith trial teams that have secured eight Verdict Search/National Law Journal “Top 100 Verdicts,” including a $525 million qui tam/whistleblower verdict for the United States/Joshua Harman against Trinity Industries; a $131 million antitrust verdict for Red Lion Medical Safety against General Electric (GE); a $75 million patent infringement verdict for Ericsson against TCL Communication; a $506 million patent infringement verdict for PanOptis against Apple; a $300 million patent infringement verdict for PanOptis against Apple; a $303 million patent infringement verdict on behalf of Netlist against Samsung; and a $142 million patent damages verdict on behalf of G+ Communications against Samsung; and a $445 million patent infringement verdict for Netlist against Micron. These victories amount to more than $2 billion in verdicts for the firm’s clients over the past 10 years alone.

Jennifer’s trial skills have garnered recognition from Managing IP, Best Lawyers in America, The Legal 500, and most recently named among the “Top Women in IP” by Texas Lawyer. Jennifer is also very involved in mentoring McKool Smith’s female lawyers and helping to develop the next generation of female principals and leaders in the firm. Most recently, she took a leadership role in helping to lead the Firm’s Women’s Leadership Development Programming.

Prior to joining McKool Smith, Jennifer was the first assistant district attorney of Harrison County, Texas, where she prosecuted felony cases involving injury and assault of children and represented the Department of Family and Protective Services in cases where children and adults were taken into protective custody. During her seven-year tenure with the Harrison County District Attorney’s Office, Jennifer honed her courtroom skills and became a particularly effective litigator in front of East Texas juries. She is also a trained mediator.
