  • VideoLabs, Inc. v. Dell Technologies Inc., 6:21-cv-456-ADA (W.D. Tex.); IPR 2022-00628; IPR 2022-00629; IPR 2022-00701 VideoLabs comprises a team of experts in video technology and patent licensing and aggregation. VideoLabs proactively identifies, evaluates, and acquires valuable patents in video technology. The asserted patents are core to the H.264 video compression standard that is used in many digital videos. At the PTAB, Jerry successfully defended against three inter partes review petitions filed by Dell against VideoLabs patents related to video coding. In all three IPRs, the PTAB denied institution on the merits, finding there was not a reasonable likelihood that Dell could prove the patents were invalid. In the patent infringement case, Jerry managed the technical aspects of the case, working closely with VideoLabs’ experts, and led the team’s brief-writing efforts.
